U.S. Korean Adoptees: Please take our WARNINGS regarding filing FOIA requests right now seriously.

For years, since around 2018, we have advised Korean Adoptees to file FREE FOIA requests to obtain dozens of pages of information from the U.S. side of their adoptions. However, we cannot more strongly CAUTION Korean Adoptees to NOT FILE FOIA REQUESTS RIGHT NOW IF THEY DO NOT HAVE IMMEDIATE NEEDS!

Some groups are irresponsibly pushing Korean Adoptees to file FOIA requests right now in order to obtain evidence for TRC 3. PLEASE be sure to consult with an immigration attorney whom you trust BEFORE you file a FOIA request in these times! We have listed resources on our FOIA page, linked above.
