Google used to be our go-to search engine, but recent changes to Google Search have made it much less reliable for finding Paperslip links (or any specific links in general) using specific search terms. As a result, the Google Trick we've recommended for years is no longer as effective.
We recommend using the same search trick as described below, but using this trick on DuckDuckGo instead. This works way better now than on Google!

Search tip: Use DuckDuckGo and search ANY website online more efficiently, such as the Paperslip.org site by removing the http://www. and typing in DuckDuckGo’s search bar:

You can search ANY website using this DuckDuckGo trick. In the example search link above, we have used the term KSS Receiving Home without quotes ““. However, you can substitute ANY search term with or without quotes ““ to efficiently search Paperslip.org using DuckDuckGo.
Here is what you have to type into your DuckDuckGo browser to search Paperslip.org:
site:paperslip.org + search term (with or without quotes ““)
If you like, you can just click on the the link above and substitute out the search term we used KSS Receiving Home with your own search term, with or without quotes ““.
Using quotes ““ will give you results with the exact phrase you type within the quotes. Try not using quotes ““ if you want more generally related results.

This is WAS particularly useful for searching the KAS “Family Search Bulletin Board”, which has a section for both Adoptees and Birth Families. Try searching the KAS site using our DuckDuckGo search trick for specific dates, names, etc. Please note that if you find anyone you think may be related to you, you need to contact NCRC to obtain that person’s contact information. (This is not always an easy process).
