The information in the article is why it is SO IMPORTANT to BACK UP IN MULTIPLE FORMATS any adoption documents you currently have in your possession and to SUBMIT GOOD QUALITY PDF SCANS of your adoption documents to NCRC via the KAS website at the time that you submit a Petition for Adoption Information Disclosure (birth family search request) to them once NCRC opens up for new requests on September 16th, 2025. This is ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT IF YOUR DOCUMENTS CONTAIN BIRTH PARENT INFORMATION.

However, this is IMPORTANT for ALL Korean Adoptees to do - whether you have birth parent information in your documents or not.
