The dumb thing about the gatekeeping by “Korean Rights” groups during TRC2 and TRC3 is you’ll likely get further by simply submitting a Petition for Adoption Information Disclosure directly to NCRC.

Above: Cloak and dagger and…bunny.

Having emerged from three years of being shut out of the TRC 2 process by the intense gatekeeping efforts of supposed “Korean Rights” groups — who have blocked and ghosted countless Korean Adoptees with active TRC 2 cases from their groups for their own incompehensible “cloak and dagger” reasons — I’ve come to realize that the TRC 2 process did NOT even result in KSS Adoptees who received TRC 2 decisions obtaining documents which you can now simply obtain from NCRC by submitting a Petitition for Adoption Information Disclosure request.

Please see:

Even KSS Adoptees among the 56 TRC 2 decision recipients did NOT receive the KSS form “국내소속서류작성의뢰서” (Request Form for Preparation of Domestic Affiliation Documents).

While I would still encourage any Korean Adoptees with interest to submit your NEW case INDEPENDENTLY to TRC 3, Adoptees — particularly KSS Adoptees — should be aware that you may be able to get documents far more easily (as long as you are patient) from NCRC, than through the TRC 3 process.

I would encourage anyone with interest in discovering more about their origins to BOTH submit a Petitition for Adoption Information Disclosure request to NCRC, AND to submit their NEW case INDEPENDENTLY to TRC 3.

Sometimes, navigating an unfair system is the only way to make progress. NCRC is not the agency that “sold” us.

NCRC will redact any information in your former Korean Adoption Agency file relating to your Adoptive Parents IF you do NOT complete the “Adoptive Parents’ Consent Form (ENglish)”.
