Above: Female Dutch KSS Adoptee whose KSS orphan name is “Jin Sook OH”, born Spring 1969. It is unknown if this is her real Korean name, or if the name “Jin Sook OH” was assigned by KSS. The photo above was likely taken in July 1974 upon relinquishment to KSS.

Female Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH” is searching for her lost fraternal twin brother / sister with possible first names “Ki Woong” and “Ki Sook”, who were both approximately 9 years old in 1974.If the ages of the fraternal male / female twins are correct, the twins would have been born around 1965 (the year is approximate) and would be approximately 61 years old in 2026.

It is UNKNOWN if the twin brother and sister “Ki Woong” and “Ki Sook” were relinquished for adoption to KSS, or kept in Korea by their birth father.

The female Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH” was relinquished to KSS with two younger biological sisters on July 23rd, 1974.Whether or not their twin brother / sister were also relinquished to KSS or other Korean Adoption Agency is UNKNOWN.

The three biological sisters including “Jin Sook OH” (who was 5 years old in 1974), her younger (non-twin) sisters “Ki Ja” and “Joo Yun” were all adopted together to the same Dutch family in 1974.

KSS Adoptee birth family search post:

Female Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH” seeks her twin brother and sister, whose first names are possibly “Ki Woong” and “Ki Sook”, who may or may not have been adopted through KSS.

The fraternal twin brother / sister with possible first names “Ki Woong” and “Ki Sook” were both approximately 9 years old in 1974.If the ages of the twins are correct, the twins would have been born around 1965 (the birth year is approximate) and the twins would be approximately 61 years old in 2026.

The female Dutch KSS Adoptee has taken these DNA tests:

-MyHeritage

-FTDNA
(FTDNA is the DNA test distributed for free by the Korean Adoptee organization 325Kamra).

Please check your DNA tests regularly for new matches!

Per our advice, the female Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH” has ordered the DNA tests 23 and Me and Ancestry on June 21st, 2026, but as of this writing on June 21st, 2026 has not yet taken these tests.

If you are a Korean Adoptee seeking birth relatives — please take ALL possible DNA tests!

Please note that IF one or both of the twins were relinquished to KSS and IF the one or both of the twins were later adopted, there is NO guarantee that they were adopted, or that they were adopted together as twins, and NO guarantee that they were adopted to the Netherlands (as were their three sisters).

KSS adopted children to the US, Netherlands, Denmark, and Switzerland between 1964-2012 through a specific list of Partner Western Adoption Agencies, and was known to have frequently separated siblings and twins for overseas adoption.

However, given the AGE of the twins at the time of their siblings’ relinquishment to KSS (approximately 9 years old in 1974), the twins would certainly KNOW they were twins — even if they were separated for adoption, and even if only one of them was later relinquished for adoption.

Above: Sibling information from page 2 of the English Adoptive Child Study Summary of female Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH” who is seeking her twin brother and sister, whose first names are possibly “Ki Woong” and “Ki Sook”, who may or may not have been adopted through KSS. The fraternal male / female twins would have been approximately 9 years old in 1974.

1974 is the year that female Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH” was relinquished together with her younger biological (non-twin) sisters, “Ki Ja” and “Joo Yun”. These three sisters were adopted together to the same adoptive family in the Netherlands in 1974.

The male / female twins, whose first names are possibly “Ki Woong” and “Ki Sook”, are being sought by the Dutch female Adoptees.

A female Dutch KSS Adoptee whose Korean orphan name is “Jin Sook OH” who was adopted together to the Netherlands with her younger biological sisters (who are not themselves twins) to the same Dutch adoptive family in 1974 is seeking her older twin brother and sister, whose names are possibly Ki Woong and Ki Sook, who may or may not have been adopted through KSS.

The male-female fraternal twins, Ki Woong and Ki Sook, were approximately nine years old in 1974 and would almost certainly have remembered having younger siblings who were later no longer part of the household. Whether they knew those siblings had been relinquished for adoption, simply disappeared from the family without explanation, or experienced some other circumstance remains unknown. It is also unclear whether Ki Woong and Ki Sook themselves were relinquished for adoption through KSS or another Korean Adoption Agency.

The Dutch KSS Adoptee whose Korean orphan name is “Jin Sook OH” has taken the following DNA tests:

-MyHeritage
-FTDNA (the DNA test distributed for free by the Korean Adoptee organization 325Kamra).

On July 26th, 1974, KSS wrote the following information about the siblings of the female Dutch KSS Adoptee in her KSS English Adoptive Child Study Summary:

“Ki Woong and Ki Sook who are twin brother and sister, and 9 years of age. And Jin Sook and Joo Yun who are 5 (years of age), (and) 3 years of age, Case (Numbers) K-3**2, K-3**1.”

*Please note that per Paperslip’s original KSS K-Number research, we know that the first digit “3” of a K-Number denoted that the Partner Western Adoption Agency to which KSS matched the children is Dutch

Also per our original research, KSS included the information about siblings’ K-Numbers ONLY if the children were intended to be adopted together to the same Western adoptive family. KSS also kept the last two digits of KSS siblings who were relinquished together on the same day and who were intended to be adopted together to the same Western adoptive family SEQUENTIAL. Indeed this is the case here for the three siblings who were relinquished together to KSS and adopted by the same Dutch adoptive family.

The three siblings who were relinquished together for adoption were all assigned sequential KSS K-Numbers starting with the first digit “3”.

The fact that there is no mention of the twins having been assigned with any KSS K-Numbers on this document suggests a number of different POSSIBLE scenarios, none of which we can know happened:

1. The birth father did NOT relinquish the twins for adoption — at least, not on the same day as the 3 younger siblings who WERE relinquished together for adoption on the same day to KSS.

2. The birth father relinquished the twins for adoption on the same day as their younger siblings to KSS, but KSS intended to get the twins adopted separately from their three younger siblings — which makes sense from the perspective of KSS, since getting 5 children adopted all together to the same family would have been a very difficult task. IF the twins were ALSO relinquished for adoption on the same day as their younger siblings, it’s possible that KSS attempted to match the twins to a different Partner Western Adoption Agency in a different country, or to a different adoptive family in the Netherlands.

3. The birth father relinquished the twins later for adoption, either to KSS or to another Korean Adoption Agency. IF the twins were relinquished for adoption to KSS on a DIFFERENT day than their siblings, then the twins’ KSS K-Numbers would bear no relationship sequentially to the K-Numbers of their younger siblings.

4. Even IF the twins were relinquished together (or separately) for adoption, there is no guarantee they were adopted together to the same adoptive family. However, given the twins’ age (9 in 1974) we find it unlikely (though not impossible) that KSS would have tried to separate them for adoption. It’s always possible that one twin and not the other could have been relinquished for adoption. We simply do not know what happened.

5. IF the twins were relinquished for adoption, KSS could have tried to place them domestically. However, given that overseas adoption was much more lucrative, we find this scenario less likely.

6. Not all children put up for adoption end up getting adopted.

7. There may be other possible scenarios which we have not considered.

FURTHER DETAILS:

The Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH” was relinquished by her birth father with her biological younger siblings Ki Ja and Joo Yun together on the same day to KSS on July 23rd, 1974, and adopted together to the Netherlands in 1974.

According to the English Adoptive Child Study Summary of Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH”, the birth mother passed away prior to the birth father’s relinquishment of the three sisters to KSS — however this information is purely based on what is recorded as being said by the birth father on KSS’ English adoption documents.

The Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH’s” English Adoptive Child Study Summary mentions information about a twin brother and sister who were (approximately) 9 years old in 1974.

Please note that Koreans are not very precise about birth dates or ages, so these ages are estimates. However, the twins would of course be the same age as each other, and would be old enough to remember having had biological siblings (sisters) who were no longer with the birth father after (solar date) July 23rd, 1974. This is presumed to be a solar (Western) and not a lunar (Korean) date, since these dates are all from the Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH’s” English Adoptive Child Study Summary, which KSS created specifically for the purpose of matching a child to one of their Partner Western Adoption Agencies (in this case, that agency was KSS’ Dutch partner, presumably Wereldkinderen).

It is UNKNOWN if the twin brother and sister were ALSO relinquished to KSS (or other Korean Adoption for adoption on the same or different day), or if the birth father kept the twins in Korea.

However, it is our personal belief that KSS would not likely have mentioned the twins if they had not ALSO been relinquished for adoption. This is purely conjecture and we cannot know for sure what happened to the twins — whether one or both of the twins were put up for adoption; whether one or both of them are alive; or if one or both of them remained in Korea — either with the birth father, or otherwise.

The fact that there are no KSS K-Numbers associated with the twins leads us to speculate that either they were NOT relinquished for adoption at the same time as their three sisters; or IF one or both of them were relinquished for adoption, they may have either been intended to be adopted through another Partner Western Adoption Agency of KSS; or they were intended to be adopted to a DIFFERENT Dutch adoptive family. We simply do not know.

Whatever the case, it seems that in the 1990s, the birth father attempted to make contact with at least the three sisters who were adopted together to the Netherlands — though tragically, they never received his letters, and did not learn of this attempt at communication until 2026, when the Petition for Adoption Information Disclosure request made by Dutch KSS Adoptee “Jin Sook OH” was fulfilled after 7 months of waiting. The birth father’s letter itself has not been shared with “Jin Sook OH” by NCRC — only a reference to the letter has been provided.
