NCRC’s appointments are booked up for October 2026.

Unsurprisingly, it seems that NCRC has no more October visit reservations available. This is undoubtedly due to IKAA, which will be bringing hundreds of Korean Adoptees to Seoul in October 2026.

You can’t say we didn’t try to warn you:

Birth Family Search Can Feel Like The Hunger Games—Stay Informed.

The screenshot above is from the KAS website (through which all Petition for Adoption Information Disclosure requests to NCRC must be made).

This is why we STRONGLY RECOMMEND that Adoptees with an interest in visiting NCRC NOT book their travel (flight / hotel) UNTIL they can CONFIRM appointments at NCRC's TWO locations!

NCRC has limited appointments, and please recall that NCRC will CLOSE for major Korean holidays.

NCRC will also book up FAST when there are major Korean Adoptee conferences in Seoul (such as IKAA — which is happening this October in Seoul) and when there are Korean Adoptee heritage tours in town (which can happen at any time during the year, but typically occur in Spring or Summer). Summer in general is prime time for Adoptee visits to Korea, but really, you cannot predict WHAT month will be the most busy for NCRC in terms of scheduling visits to NCRC’s two locations.

Please plan carefully if you have interest in visiting NCRC in person!

There are many ways in which the NCRC process is designed to make Adoptees fail! Please be as informed as possible BEFORE you book your trip to Korea!

Please note that you can still obtain a copy of your former Korean Adoption Agency file from NCRC through a purely online request, but your wait time for fulfillment of online requests only is likely to be between 5 months to up to 1 year.
