New Post: My Uncredited Interview Subject Referrals To FRONTLINE / AP For The 2024 Documentary "South Korea's Adoption Reckoning", Related Articles, and Interactive.

Above: Still from a filmed meeting on June 16th, 2021 of Paperslip Co-Founder Rebecca Kimmel (me, right) and Associated Press (AP) reporter Tong-hyung Kim (left).

This meeting took place at a hotel in Seoul and shortly preceded my later 2021 meeting at my Korean Adoption Agency KSS (Korea Social Service), which Tong-hyung Kim and others attended at my invitation. According to his own words in print, this meeting “birthed Kim’s years-long obsession with reporting on adoption fraud out of Korea.” However, the FRONTLINE / AP documentary “South Korea’s Adoption Reckoning” — which had been built in large part of my informing Tong-hyung Kim between 2021-2024 about my investigation into my and my likely twin’s separate switch cases, in addition to my countless Adoptee interview referrals — failed to credit or acknowledge me in any way for my years of work.

This footage was filmed by an independent filmmaker — not by any journalist.

I declined to discuss my work with Paperslip when FRONTLINE / AP filmed my interviews in 2023 since KSS was still open — and I did not want to jeopardize KSS Adoptees’ chances of getting their files.
