G.O.A.L. Secretary General (SG) Louise Lindberg Resigns Effective November 7th, 2026.

We are sad but unsurprised to learn that the Secretary General (SG) of G.O.A.L. — Swedish Korean Adoptee Louise Lindberg — is resigning effective November 7th, 2026.

We are unsurprised because Louise has worked extraordinarily hard and hers is not an easy position to fulfill. Louise has done a great job with G.O.A.L. and we wish her the best in her future endeavours. We know she has served the Korean Adoptee community well during her tenure.

Below is Louise’s official announcement and resignation letter, which was shared with all G.O.A.L. members.

An Important Message to G.O.A'.L. Members

“Dear G.O.A'.L. Members,

I am writing to inform you that I have submitted my formal resignation as Secretary General of G.O.A'.L. My last working day will be November 7, 2026.

This has not been an easy decision. Serving G.O.A'.L. and working alongside the international Korean adoptee community has been meaningful to me. I am grateful for the people I have met, the trust many of you have shown me, and the opportunity to contribute to our community.

However, over time, the workload and responsibilities have become unsustainable, affecting my health and well-being. Despite my efforts to manage the responsibilities of the Secretary General, including additional administrative and financial duties, I have come to the difficult realization that I cannot continue under the current circumstances.

I believe that G.O.A'.L. plays an important role in supporting Korean adoptees, and I sincerely hope the organization will continue to develop in a way that strengthens transparency, accountability, communication, and support for both its members and staff.

I am sharing my resignation letter with you as an attachment so that members can understand my decision directly from me.

Until my last working day, I will do my best to complete my remaining responsibilities and support a proper handover within reasonable working hours.

Thank you for your understanding, your support, and your commitment to the Korean adoptee community. It has been a privilege to serve you.
I sincerely wish G.O.A'.L. and all its members the very best for the future.

Warm regards,

Louise Lindberg”
