Something IMPORTANT To Understand About The TRC 3 Process.

For anyone who wishes to submit their cases INDEPENDENTLY (which we strongly recommend) of any representative group to TRC 3, it is important to understand something about DKRG’s (Danish Korean Rights Group’s) desire to control the TRC 3 submission process. Ultimately, much of this goes to a general desire for CONTROL over people, but there is also an IMPORTANT procedural caveat about TRC 3 of which Korean Adoptees MUST be aware.

First, it’s important to note that
ALL of the *KRG groups are ultimately run by DKRG. This includes USKRG and all the other international *KRG groups. And DKRG is basically run by Danish Korean Adoptees Peter Moller and Boonyoung Han, who both live in S. Korea.

TRC 3 allows Korean Adoptees to file their cases INDEPENDENTLY of any “representative” groups, such as DKRG, USKRG, etc.

While we strongly recommend filing your TRC 3 case INDEPENDENTLY, due to DKRG’s problematic treatment of Korean Adoptees during the TRC process and general privacy concerns about DKRG’s handling of Adoptees’ sensitive adoption documents, it is also important to understand something CRITICAL about the TRC 3 process overall.

Apparently TRC 3 will put those Adoptees’ cases which it accepts into groups of around 30 or more. The TRC 3 process CANNOT MOVE FORWARD to the next batch of Adoptees’ cases until ALL of the Adoptees in the previous group have been contacted regarding their case. This means that IF Adoptees are NOT contactable throughout the ENTIRE 4 YEAR TRC 3 process, this could hold the ENTIRE process back!

Therefore, it is VERY IMPORTANT for any Korean Adoptees who submit their cases INDEPENDENTLY to TRC 3 be sure to have a DEDICATED PERSONAL EMAIL address which they regularly check for TRC 3 communications.

This CANNOT be a WORK email address. It must be a PERSONAL email address. You need to make sure that you regularly check your email and that you check your SPAM folders. You also need to make sure that your email does not fill up.

You will also need to keep the SAME PHONE NUMBER for at least 4 years — from 2026-2030.

You will basically need to keep the SAME PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER for at least 4 years — from 2026-2030. YOU MUST REMAIN CONTACTABLE THROUGHOUT THIS ENTIRE TIME, AND BE RESPONSIVE TO EMAILS FROM TRC 3 INVESTIGATORS!

The TRC 3 process will have a 2 year SUBMISSION process (from February 26th, 2026 — February 25th, 2028), followed by a 2 year INVESTIGATION process.

If you are NOT able to COMMIT FULLY to this 4 YEAR process, please do NOT submit your case to TRC 3!

We want to note that DKRG’s inherent desire to keep information hidden and secret within their secret cabals / private Facebook groups and Zooms is going to be VERY COUNTERPRODUCTIVE during TRC 3, since Korean Adoptees who file INDEPENDENTLY need to be aware of important information such as the above which AFFECTS ALL APPLICANTS TO TRC 3.

We can also hardly believe that DRKG’s persistent BLOCKING / GHOSTING of Korean Adoptees with active TRC cases from their private Facebook groups can possibly help the situation. We recall that prior to the release of the
March 26th, 2025 TRC 2 Interim Report, DRKG was scrambling to contact Adoptees with TRC 2 cases — most likely because they had BLOCKED AND GHOSTED so many of them from their Facebook groups, which DKRG made sure were the sole source of information for Adoptees about TRC 2!

It is for the reasons outlined above that it is VITAL that information about TRC 3 be made PUBLICLY. We will continue to do so through the PAPERSLIP BLOG as more information becomes available from TRC 3.

However please note that we will NOT be reviewing individuals’ submissions for TRC 3.

It is NOT rocket science to submit your case to TRC 3. Please see the related posts below, and we will share the ENGLISH forms for INDIVIDUAL case submissions, once they become available from TRC 3. You should be able to submit your case INDEPENDENTLY through a Korean Consulate in your Western country of adoption or residence, or through the TRC 3 website.

Please be sure to CAREFULLY PREPARE ALL MATERIALS BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR CASE TO TRC 3! Please be sure to carefully read the following posts, and DO NOT RUSH — you have TWO YEARS to submit your case to TRC 3!
