Above: My AI generated image of KSS’ Death Books, which I saw in person at KSS’ Post Adoption Services building in Seoul in 2019. Due to DKRG’s (Danish Korean Rights Group’s) egregiously pushing me out of the TRC movement on December 7th, 2022 — having had NO prior argument — TRC 2 (Second Truth and Reconciliation Commission) investigators were NEVER made aware of these Death Books, because DKRG did NOT know of them. DKRG pushed the ONE person who DID know of these Death Books — ME — out of the TRC 2 movement so that they could be the only activists in the press.
I attempted to inform TRC 2 about all that I knew about KSS — including its Death Books — by scheduling an appointment to meet with TRC 2 investigators in February 2023, after DKRG had inexplicably blocked me from all of its groups on December 7th, 2022. However, DKRG was inexplicably CC’d (copied) on the email about my appointment from TRC 2 Investigators, and DKRG then ran interference in my appointment — posting on forums from which I was blocked that “Adoptees should not try to be first in line to meet with the TRC” — causing TRC 2 Investigators to CANCEL my appointment after I had already PAID for my trip to Korea to meet with them. Due to repeated abuses by DKRG, including their assigning FALSE credit for my KSS K-Number research to a NON-Adoptee DoKAD (Descendant / Child of a Korean Adoptee) who was then a supporter of DKRG, I withdrew my TRC 2 case in March 2023.
After withdrawing my TRC 2 case — despite it being one of the first 34 cases to be accepted by TRC 2 — I tried through two other people to inform TRC 2 Investigators about the Death Books, but TRC 3 has told me on October 22nd, 2026 that they have NEVER heard of nor seen KSS’ Death Books. NCRC told me in person in June 2025 that they did not know of them. These irreplaceable records of decades of child deaths within KSS’ system may therefore be PERMANENTLY LOST TO TIME following the transfer of KSS’ files to NCRC on July 19th, 2025. KSS had ample opportunity to HIDE THEM prior to the transfer of files from KSS’ Post Adoption Services building to NCRC.
Let me be clear: During the course of its operation between 1964-2012, KSS kept EVERYTHING. I know this because I am one of the few KSS Adoptees who has ever been inside of KSS’ file room (in 2019 and 2021) and I have seen many of their records — prior to the July 19th, 2025 transfer of all KSS files to NCRC — which most Adoptees were never permitted to see. The death records which KSS’ then Director showed to me in 2019 were from the 1970s. So KSS likely had death records from the beginning of its founding in 1964 through 2012 when it ceased to process overseas adoptions. Yet after the file transfer to NCRC beginning July 19th, 2025, NO ONE — neither NCRC nor TRC — knows what has become of KSS’ decades of death records. Had I not been blocked out of the TRC 2 movement by DKRG, I could have directly informed TRC 2 investigators of these death records and they might have been permanently archived. But since I was blocked from the movement and deliberately prevented by DKRG from meeting with TRC 2 investigators, I NEVER HAD THE CHANCE. Therefore, the death records which KSS kept for DECADES have now been LOST TO TIME thanks to the egregious actions of DKRG and it’s formerly affiliated DoKAD.
Neither NCRC (whom I asked in person in March 2026) nor TRC (whom I asked in person on October 22nd, 2026) knows what has happened to KSS’ Death Books. They are likely PERMANENTLY LOST, thanks to the egregious actions of DKRG and its would-be plagiaristic formerly affiliated DoKAD.
Ironically, this same DoKAD has since made a LOT OF NOISE as part of an organization purportedly dedicated to trying to “PRESERVE” Adoptees’ records after they were transferred from the Korean Adoption Agencies to NCRC. But he is a major part of why KSS death records have likely been PERMANENTLY LOST.
This plagiaristic DoKAD’s defenders probably think that he is just a (nearly 30 year old) child! But perhaps the CHILDREN of Adoptees should NOT be part of Korean Adoptee communities because they are TOO YOUNG and sometimes TOO ARROGANT to understand the CONSEQUENCES of their actions for ACTUAL adult Adoptees!

When I recently met with the TRC 3 Commissioner and Investigators on October 22nd, 2026, there was a gasp in the room as they realized that KSS’ Death Books have likely been LOST (meaning, hidden by KSS prior to the July 19th, 2025 transfer of all former Korean Adoption Agency files to NCRC) due to my being pushed out of the TRC 2 movement by DKRG and its DoKAD / Descendant of a Korean Adoptee (former) affiliate.
Some Korean Adoptees feel it's a good idea to have allowed DoKADs into our spaces. But for KSS Adoptees, this has come at an enormous cost which few understand or realize.
The TRC says that they have never heard of KSS’ Death Books nor seen them at KSS during the TRC 2 investigation into Overseas Adoption between 2022-2025. After being pushed out of the TRC 2 movement by DKRG for still unexplained reasons, I tried through two different channels to inform the TRC 2 Commission about KSS’ Death Books. Apparently, those whom I entrusted FAILED to deliver the message, after I could not do so myself — due to having been pushed out of the TRC 2 movement by DKRG and its plagiaristic (then) affiliates.
DKRG assigned a DoKAD (then) affiliate with FALSE credit for my KSS K-Number research after inexplicably blocking me from all of its TRC 2 related groups on December 7th, 2022 — the very day that the TRC 2 investigation into Overseas Adoption began. There was NO prior argument between myself and DKRG. It has never been explained why I was blocked, but after doing so, DKRG assigned FALSE credit for my KSS K-Number research to a DoKAD (then) affiliate, who took over one year to finally admit he had NOTHING to do with my work of decoding KSS K-Numbers (see his statement below). I explicitly undertook this KSS K-Number research between 2020-2021 to try to find answers in my deceased twin sister’s switch case.

Above: NON-Adoptee DoKAD Bastiaan Flikweert’s VERY BELATED ADMISSION, on February 19, 2024, that he had NO role in decoding KSS K-Numbers. He had first been assigned FALSE credit for my work by DKRG’s Peter Moller on January 1st, 2023. It took Bastiaan over ONE YEAR to FINALLY ADMIT that he had NOTHING to do with my 2020-2021 work of decoding KSS K-Numbers. I had unfortunately told Bastiaan in confidence in February 2022 about my work. I never expected I would have to battle him for YEARS for credit for my own research.
NON-Adoptee DoKAD Bastiaan Fliweert writes:
“In the first place, I would like to make clear and emphasize that I had nothing to do with the decoding of the encodement of the KSS K-Numbers. Rebecca Kimmel’s hard work and endless efforts she put in due to her discovery of her dead twin sister’s case has been critical for this discovery. I have never made any statements that I earn any credits for this.”
Bastiaan Flikweert is the son of two KSS Adoptees who BOTH admitted to having directly witnessed my KSS K-Number research which I conducted on a shared KSS Adoptee forum, of which Bastiaan’s parents and I were all members. Despite having firsthand knowledge of my work, his parents privately pressured me to allow their son to retain the FALSE credit assigned to him by DKRG’s Peter Moller on January 1, 2023, in a DKRG / TRC 2-related forum from which I had been blocked. I never understood WHY his parents pressured me to allow their son to keep the false credit assigned to him for my work — despite both admitting they had both directly witnessed my conducting my KSS K-Number research — until I later learned that an organization of which Bastiaan and his parents are all co-founders receives thousands of dollars per year from the S. Korean and Dutch Governments. They didn’t create this organization until well after my KSS K-Number research was already complete. While I can’t prove this was the motivation for Bastiaan’s parents’ behavior (and the behavior of another Dutch KSS Adoptee co-founder who also pressured me to allow Bastiaan to keep the false credit assigned to him for my work), it certainly makes a sh*tty kind of “sense” to me that they might want to make their organization look good by falsely claiming credit for my work, in order to attract government funding. Meanwhile Bastiaan’s parents had never — in all the time since I was a member since 2018 — ever contributed anything at all to the forum on which we were all members, and on which they both privately acknowledged witnessing my conducting my KSS K-Number research. Meanwhile, I had been volunteering for years on the forum to help KSS Adoptees request and obtain information from KSS, while it was still open.
Since I was blocked from DKRG’s forums, I could not defend myself, and Bastiaan REFUSED for over one year to even admit privately that I had done my own research into KSS K-Numbers and decoded them by 2020-2021.
Bastiaan’s eventual admission that he had played no role in my research did NOT happen organically. For over one year, Bastiaan would NOT even admit to me PRIVATELY that I had done my own research! In order to get him to FINALLY confess, I had to create a purpose built website (for which I had to pay) and call him out publicly on an ADOPTEE forum of which I had not previously been aware that he was a member. Meanwhile Bastiaan, who is NOT an Adoptee, was himself a member of a DKRG forum from which I had been blocked for no reason. Consequently, I had NO opportunity to defend myself when Peter Moller publicly attributed my KSS K-Number research to him on January 1st, 2023. Bastiaan also patently REFUSED to ask DKRG’s Peter Moller WHY I was blocked from DKRG forums. Bastiaan’s unwillingness to do so helped to ensure that I could NOT defend my research myself. (Note that this SAME Bastiaan Flikweert has had NO issues with SCREAMING publicly at NCRC workers — yet he could not be arsed to ask Peter Moller nicely why I was blocked from DKRG forums).
I should note that I had only discovered by accident that I had a likely deceased twin sister in 2020 — when I was in my forties — after accidentally finding my twin’s switch file at KSS in 2019 while searching for my real file, and believing for over one year that the photo of my twin sister was of me. The fact that my research had been falsely attributed to someone else on a forum from which I was blocked, felt to me like my twin had been stolen from me all over again. Her memory had already been stolen from me for over four decades by KSS. I had only known of my twin’s existence since September 11th, 2020 and Peter Moller gave false credit for my KSS K-Number research to Bastiaan Flikweert — which I had conducted in the context of my investigation into my deceased twin’s switch case — on January 1st, 2023. During the time in which DKRG gave Bastiaan false credit for my work, I very much had an image in my mind of reaching for my twin from behind jail cell bars. This was a dark and agonizing time for me, and the abuse by Peter Moller, Boonyoung Han, and Bastiaan Flikweert was a punishment I NEVER deserved.
Multiple Danish KSS Adoptees — who had directly witnessed my work along with HUNDREDS of other KSS Adoptees (including Bastiaan’s parents) — immediately contacted me to report what was happening, on January 1st, 2023, when Bastiaan was first given false credit for my work. The Danish Adoptees who spoke up in my defense were subsequently BLOCKED from DKRG forums by Peter Moller and / or Boonyoun Han. This effectively cut these Danish Adoptees off from receiving DKRG information about TRC 2, since DKRG had taken pains to set itself up as the only mouthpiece for Adoptees for TRC 2.
Many of these Danish Adoptees had active TRC 2 cases. Yet, after being blocked for speaking up for me, they were left without access to DKRG's TRC 2 information EVER SINCE. This is the consequence of the extensive DKRG gatekeeping that took (and still takes) place: Adoptees who challenged the false attribution of my work were deprived of access to information relevant to their own TRC 2 cases for YEARS!
And even after Bastiaan explicitly admitted that he had NO role in my research, his affiliates egregiously CONTINUE to pursue false credit for work that is mine. Meanwhile, Bastiaan’s defenders continue to enable his plagiaristic actions which have directly contributed to the likely PERMANENT DISAPPEARANCE of KSS’ Death Books. This is a tradedy not only for myself in pursuit of justice for myself and my deceased twin sister, but for the ENTIRE KSS Adoptee community — and for those Korean birth parents who will now NEVER know what happened to their children, if they died at KSS.
Yet today, Bastiaan and his affiliates have positioned themselves as “defenders” of Adoptees’ records. The hypocrisy is staggering, and the irony is painful.
*Note: It never made sense to me why Peter Moller — with his inexplicable egomania — might assign SOMEONE ELSE like Bastiaan with FALSE credit for my KSS K-Number work. In his “logic”, wouldn’t it have made more sense for Peter Moller to have credited HIMSELF on his own DKRG forum? While I can’t prove this, something I heard which Bastiaan purportedly told a non-Adoptee Korean Adoption researcher makes FAR more sense to me. According to this account, before Peter Moller’s post assigning Bastiaan with FALSE credit for my work — of which I have copious screenshots — Peter made a PRIOR post giving HIMSELF false credit for my KSS K-Number research. Bastiaan saw this post and he and Peter then had a fight. Peter then deleted his first post and created a second post, this time giving Bastiaan FALSE credit for my work. This narrative makes FAR MORE SENSE to me, and perfectly accounts for Bastiaan’s highly resistant behavior in the wake of my discovery that he had been FALSELY credited for my work. I immediately reached out to him and asked him to correct the false credit which had been given to him. It became IMMEDIATELY CLEAR to me that Bastiaan was going to try to KEEP the FALSE credit assigned to him for my work, and was going to FIGHT me to retain it. Had I not been able to finally call Bastiaan out publicly on a non-DKRG forum from which I was not blocked by Peter Moller, I doubt that Bastiaan EVER would have confessed that he had NOTHING to do with decoding KSS K-Numbers. There is therefore nothing honorable about his confession, over a year after he had been assigned false credit for my work. He was just saving face when I could finally call him out publicly.
It has cost me FAR too much time and energy to defend the work that I did in the course of my investigation into my deceased twin sister’s switch case. I definitely did NOT need or deserve this extra layer of TRAUMA on top of trying to solve two switched identities.
